I have searched the group but didn’t find a definitive answer but maybe because there isn’t one. We are on a US passport. My wife and I and our two children (4) and (2) are on a VOA 45-day which started Feb 16th. We plan to extend this by 30 days tomorrow.
Do I really need to get extension for the two children as well? I have heard that under a certain age they will not be penalized for overstay but in other cases I have heard people say that children should be extended on schedule as well.
We planned a week long trip to Cambodia once the extension runs out and plan to return back to Thailand for another 45+30.
Thanks for your insight.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking advice on whether they are required to extend their children's visas while on a 45-day Visa on Arrival in Thailand. They are unclear if the children, aged 4 and 2, need to have their stays legalised through an extension, especially since they plan to travel to Cambodia and return for additional time in Thailand. Several comments highlight that while children are not fined for overstaying, they may still receive a stamp indicating an overstay in their passports, which could affect future travels.
