Hello, we are about to apply for a 30 days visa extension because our 60 days tourist visa is coming to an end. I hear from people that the 30 days extension does not need to be asked for my kids (4 and 1). On the internet, I read that they will get an overstay stamp in their passport. Someone knows what’s true or not? Also we will do a visa run once the extension expires so we do not want to jeopardise our chances to get a new 60 days tourist visa. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a 30-day visa extension in Thailand, children aged 14 and under do not need to apply separately for the extension. They will receive an overstay stamp in their passport if the extension is not obtained, but there are no fines or repercussions for them. It's important to note that attempting to obtain consecutive tourist visas may raise concerns at the airport about the intent to "live" in Thailand rather than just "tour," which could affect future visa applications.
Unless perhaps you are visiting Thailand for the very first time, your attempt to string two tourist visas in a row is increasingly likely to be challenged at the airport on the grounds that you are trying to "live" here instead of just "tour" here. Normal choices given: (1) switch to a longer term visa class or (2) place several months between your two "tourism" visits. I do not agree with that logic, but those are the choices many people are being given lately, even though Thailand's online information about this has never changed...
Children 14 and under cannot be fined or blacklisted for overstay. They will get a stamp in their passport as you mention. There are no repercussions on them having a stamp in their passports.
