I am currently in Pattaya.suppoae to head back to Bangkok next week (so could do the process in either location) I need to exstend my tourist visa for me and my children we are from Canada .I have few questions about the process

1. Do I need to bring my children with me when applying to immigration?

2We have only been renting airbnb...how will I produce the form they ask for to confrim address and accommodation ?

3.Exactly how many passport photos do we each require..different sites say different

4. can I pay the visa extention fee with visa or do I need thai baht to pay.

5. Which location is less stressful to apply Bangkok or Chin Buri..as I hope me and kids don't have to wait in line for hours in the heat..

Any other tips welcome first time doing the process and with 3 small children seems kinda stressful thankyou

TLDR : Answer Summary
This post discusses a Canadian expat's concerns about extending a tourist visa for themselves and their children while in Thailand, specifically in Pattaya or Bangkok. Key questions include whether children must accompany the parent to the immigration office, how to provide proof of accommodation as they are staying in an Airbnb, the number of passport photos required, payment methods for the extension fee, and which location is more manageable for the application process. The community replies suggest that taking the children along is advisable, emphasize cash payment, mention the necessity of the TM30 form at both locations, and provide tips for minimizing wait times.

Yes Bangkok, unfortunately you are going to have to get used to the heat it’s Thailand and now hot season until November

Hot season ends next month then we will transition to the rainy season which ends in the first or second week of October.

It’s still hot 40c - 35c not much of a difference, yea it will rain and be hot so are you happy?

Cash only. Yes, bring your kids. It's not Disneyland but they should find the process and waiting interesting. 🙂

They'll get bored instantly and then run around.

all these questions carry their own answer

- why not take the kids in case they want to see them ? and take picture anyway !

- -why not take thai baths to pay the fee ??

- for photo you get 4 photos for 100 baths if you can't pay for an extra set of fotos how are you gonna survive with 2 kids for one month extention

- ah the worst : wait in line !! TIT ! don't you ever wait in line when visiting administrations in CANADA .

to avoid long lines there is an easy way : get up at 5 and head on to immigration . in some places you might not even be number one . but the waiting in line when opened will be shorter . so you will just wait in line before they open ...TIT .....

for extension they take a pphoto so I suppose you have to take the kids with you . but I say y

this and then someone will tell you otherwise

No you'll need the TM30 in Bangkok as well, I just extended my stay last week. Also Canadian here, it was a relatively easy experience although a long wait. The office is in IT Laksi which is an older mall accessible via SRT line. It's an air conditioned building and has lots of food options so the kids will be fine. You can get your photos taken and everything photocopied right next door on the 3rd floor. Go as early as possible though as they only give out 200 numbers to serve people.

they said they have visa so i think its a different location for a visa to visa exempt

At Chonburi you're going to need the TM30 but in Bangkok you probably will not need it.

You can only pay in cash.

in Bangkok now, if a TM30 is not on file in their computer they ask for it. Lots of Airbnb rentals do not file them, even though they are supposed to.

yep I was fined when I arrived years ago for not having a ™ 30 on file when I was in an air bnb
