Is it appropriate to email the embassy for an update on my DTV visa after 9 working days of pending approval?

Good Afteenoon DTV Group,

Submitted my DTV on the 19.03.25, I was asked for additional documents on the 19.03.25, which i supplied in less than 1 hour , now pending approval , is it frowned upon to email embassy and ask for an update? It's been 9 working days to date.

Thanks for any advice , 1st time applying for DTV visa so unsure how long this process normally takes, don't want to come across pushy 🙏 🤞

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about whether it's appropriate to contact the embassy for an update on their DTV visa application, which has been pending for 9 working days after submitting additional documents. Responses from the community suggest that while it's generally acceptable to ask for an update, one should ideally wait at least until the 11th working day before doing so. It is also noted that processing times can vary significantly depending on the embassy and the specifics of the application.

You can email and ask, it can't hurt.

You haven't said which of the 80 Thai embassies you applied at, you haven't stated the entry scheme you chose, nor your anticipated arrival date as asked during the application process.

We had exactly the same thing with Canberra embassy! I know it's hard, but just be patient:

We applied on
***
, were asked for additional docs within 24 hrs, supplied within 1 hour, status changed to 'pending approval' within a couple of days, then was finally approved today on
***
. Total of 4 weeks.

Good luck!

I make that 8 working days, the day you apply doesn't count. Where did you apply and what doesn't the consulate website say about processing time?

It’s not frowned upon as such… it really depends where applying from. But normally around 10 working days up to 15 in some circumstances. I wouldn’t email until 11 working days & even then, chances of a reply are slim lol

Anonymous participant you're lack of patience 😂 Not to mention you don't say what embassy you applied at for anyone to even say the normal processing time for that individual one. And they tell you on their site what the average time is as well .

And aww did it strike a nerve i laughed at yet another post like this from of course an anonymous poster 😂
