I applied for a DTV visa on 29th December. The next day, they asked me to provide an additional document, proof of address such as a bank statement or a bill. So directly I sent a bank statement.

Today is January 4th and I have no news.

I am in Mauritius and am attached to the Royal Thai Embassy in South Africa

is it normal that i have no news? what do you think?

Thx

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the normal processing time for a DTV visa after submitting their application on December 29 and providing additional documents. Community responses indicated that the application had only been in processing for four business days due to the timing of weekends and public holidays. They advised patience, noting that processing times may vary, especially if the embassy requests additional documents.

There have been public holidays during this time period and it is now the weekend. What is the processing time the Embassy you applied to states?

Your application has only been processing for FOUR business days 😮

You applied Sunday the 29th (that day doesn't count) then they were closed the 1st, then they're closed the weekend (so those days don't count either)

30-31, 2-3 <- those are the business days that have passed since you applied,

Remember some consulates the "processing time" resets when they ask for more documents, so depending on when you sent the other documents, you might have to count the days from then

I'd say you're fine, wait it out
