What should I do if my Thai visa application has been delayed for over two weeks?

I applied for DTV from the embassy in KotaBharu Malaysia and it has not been approved since January 12. I have been calling the embassy for the last 3 days and they give me the same answer every day "It will be approved today" Now I want to go back to Thailand. Has this happened to anyone before?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user reported their Thai visa application for a DTV from the Kota Bharu embassy has been pending since January 12. They expressed frustration over the repeated responses of 'It will be approved today' from the embassy. Several commenters advised waiting out the processing time, which is typically around 15 working days, and suggested entering Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa while awaiting approval. One suggested contacting the embassy via email for a more formal inquiry, while another inquired about the applicant's Thai nationality, implying they might not need a visa.

Did you apply or did your boyfriend/husband? You're clearly Thai, thus no need for a visa.

send them email and explain your situation that you been giving answer about my visa will approve today and its been 3 days, with same answer, maybe they will get it done as email is recorded and can be read as call gets answered and forget sometimes, but be polite :)

I think the final step in the process might be check by MFA in Bangkok, so embassy has not much influence on last step.

no it's not I've just done it , you have to apply in the county and send proof you was there don't say you have to stay many people have left then received email confirmation later !

Anonymous participant 840 you may have got away with it but you were lucky. You are meant to remain in the country until your application is completed. People have been asked to supply copies of every page in their passport to verify this and even called income for interview.

When I went to the embassy building, even though it was not visible in the system, they asked me for the invoice of the hotel I stayed in and made it available for me to upload to the system and I uploaded it to the system there, they said I did not need to come for further information and I could call them, so I called them once and they told me it would be approved today, so since it was not approved, I called them again the next day and this process continued like this, I stopped calling now, I am waiting for this week to end.

did they tell you to come in person? What day did they say it would originally be complete?

Since I saw that many people in this group were able to get information by calling or visiting, I thought I could do the same. Is there a problem with that?

They didn't tell me anything. I wanted to visit them and coincidentally when I visited them, they said my hotel address document was missing.

you wait it out in the country you're in until the visa is approved.

The processing on your visa has just been 10 working days 😕

According to information from the Thai Consulate, the processing time for a Thai visa at the Kota Bharu consulate is typically around 15 working days.
