How long does it usually take to get a DTV visa approved in Cambodia, and can it be rejected without notification?

Hi everyone, I’m applying DTV as a content creator in Phnom Penh and I applied on 5th Nov.

I have sent them requested documents and have no got a reply yet. In your experience, how long do they usually take and is it also possible that they reject or take longer time even though they don’t send you any emails?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the processing time and potential rejection for a DTV visa application submitted on November 5th in Phnom Penh. They have sent the required documents but have not yet received a response. Comments from the community suggest that the approval usually takes about 10 business days, and there are public holidays that may affect processing times. There is also a mention that applications must now be submitted online at the Thai Embassy in Cambodia.

When I went to the Thai Embassy in PP for unrelated reasons last month I saw that there were only taking online applications and the whole process is online.

I'm interested to see how it works out for you and how long it takes.

10 business days except the day of submission for Cambodia to approve so you have until around the 19th. You could get it before.

given there's 2 public holidays in there it could be the 21st, assuming they don't ask for anything else.

it is funny people wanting 2 days turnaround time lol. These embassy staff have other duties too. I wagercthey have not employed any extra to deal with the DTV.

Yeah, maybe too much reading of the turnaround in Taipei got them thinking everywhere is like that. Also, they have forgotten national holidays will delay approval. Cambodia not the embassy to go to if you want to be approved very quickly.

I do not know about Thai Embassy but many embassies have had budget cuts as well as staff cuts. A lot of work is also outsourced such as visas. Thailand has kept their in house though which is good. VFS can be a nightmare.

People better hope they do not fully outsource. I think they will find them more difficult to deal with.

UK, Shengen and a host of others. I have only dealt with them for a passport renewal appointment in Bangkok and it was fine. Having a white face meant they pulled me out of the reception queue and sent me to front 🙂 Friends dealing with them for visas report a lot of issues. A pal relocating to UK sponsored by a major company had a headache with them. I know a senior Diplomat who is not very impressed with them and that is an understatement.

i know French Visas in the UK are outsourced and complaints are made about that service. I think the Thai Embassy in London does the DTV going by the correspondence they sent me when I enquired about doing the DTV there.

In Cambodia his kids put a notice on one of the bedroom doors saying "Uncle Greg's Bedroom -VIP" lol. They are older now. The residence was not as big last posting. I had to use one of their bedrooms. They are not going with him next posting though as at boarding school now.
