What are the current approval times for DTV visa applications from Vietnam?

Hi everyone, for those applying for the DTV visa from Hanoi,Vietnam — has anyone received their approval in the past few days?

I submitted my application on March 19th, was asked to provide additional documents on March 20th, and my status changed to “Pending Approval” on March 21st. But there’s been no update since then.

From what I’ve seen before, most people got their visa approved within about 5 working days, so i just want to ask the situation…thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the experiences of several individuals applying for the DTV visa from Hanoi, Vietnam. Many applicants who submitted their applications around mid-March 2025 are reporting a status of 'Pending Approval' after submitting additional documents. Although early applicants received approval within about 5 working days, newer applicants are experiencing delays beyond that timeframe. Some users recommend contacting the embassy for updates, while others express concerns and frustrations about the waiting period. Recent updates indicate that processing may be slower than usual, potentially influenced by external factors such as a recent earthquake in Bangkok.

Remember that Bangkok has experienced a major earthquake on Thursday. The Thai Foreign Ministry which reviews the on-line Evisa submission of Thai Visa applications is in Bangkok.

Be patient 🙏🙏

I was wondering earlier... it might be something really basic like the person who usually processes the DTV applications was on vacation this week. Seems like the process slowed down just for this one week. Random thought, I know.

I'm in a similar situation. I submitted my DTV visa application on March 21 at 2:00 a.m. in Hanoi. Later that same day, my status changed to "Pending Approval" as well. As of now, my application is still in the pending state.

It seems like the processing times might be a bit longer than usual. I'm also curious to hear if anyone else has received their approval recently. Hopefully, we'll all get some updates soon!

Same here, missed my flight today. I was actually at the Hanoi embassy asking about my case right when the earthquake hit in Bangkok, as I'm trying to get back to Bangkok because my baby is sick. Someone took a picture of my passport and said she would check, but there has not been any update.

I imagine the earthquake will slow down processes more. Poor Myanmar 😞, it does not need another humanitarian crisis.

I wanted to do the same but I'm afraid to jeopardize the DTV visa process. Good luck and I hope you don't have trouble getting transport home from the airport 🍀

It’s worth trying to call them. My application remained pending approval for more than a week until I finally called the embassy. The same day they approved. It was another consulate though, not Vietnam
