The requirement for health insurance when applying for an O visa in Thailand varies depending on where and how you obtain the visa. Some consulates may require it, while others do not. Particularly, health insurance is not required for extensions of stay within Thailand. However, health insurance may be required for the Thai Pass and for obtaining an evisa. Issues arise when applying from abroad, with some applicants reporting that insurance was requested, while others noted it was not necessary for their applications.

Depends where you are obtaining it from. Some consulates stipulate that you must have it others don’t. For applications inside of Thailand or extensions it is not required.
