I have an o visa based on retirement. I am returning to Thailand soon... On a re-entry permit. I nerd 10k usd insurance right? But for what time period? A week. Month? Year?

yes exactly. I still uploaded my Thai insurance on the evisa application as it asked for it but don't think it's required for a Non O

I applied for the Non O based on retirement in the UK and it asked for it. It's not required for extension of stay.

Depends where you are obtaining it from. Some consulates stipulate that you must have it others don’t. For applications inside of Thailand or extensions it is not required.
