TLDR : Answer Summary
The health insurance requirements for a 90-day O visa in Thailand indicate that insurance should cover the duration of the visa, i.e., 90 days. For entry under the Thai Pass with a non-immigrant visa, only COVID-19 health coverage is needed for the first 30 days. However, it is clarified that the Non-O visa does not mandatorily require comprehensive health insurance, unlike other visa types such as O-A. Users have expressed general confusion about the evolving regulations in Thailand.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
The irony is that for Thailand Pass "covid" no longer needs to be mentioned in the policy (see capture from TP FAQ), but the cheapest Thai insurance is only for Covid and just a token insurance.

Your insurance should last as long as your visa ergo 90 days
In theory yes, but in practice no. I have seen even 1 day insurance getting approved. But suggest for people to take 15 or 30 days, especially if they are only taking Thai insurance as back-up for their own insurance.
Having said that any health or travel insurance will be accepted.
