TLDR : Answer Summary
There is currently no health insurance requirement for the Non-O visa extension based on marriage. The term 'marriage visa' is commonly used to describe this extension, and participants confirm that health insurance is not mandatory for this visa type.

Most commonly the term "marriage visa" is used for a Non-O visa extension on the ground of marriage. If this is the case, then there is no insurance requirement.

Marriage visa or marriage extension? Two different things. Extension no. A visa to enter I would say yes because all entries require insurance atm, including extension holders returning on a re entry stamp.

. You need insurance for the length of your entry visa, regardless of type. But you won't need a year of insurance to get a yearly extension based on a Thai spouse.

Insurance isn't required for a spouse extension , but I wouldn't be surprised if that changes eventually .
