I recently moved to Bangkok (condo owner did a Bangkok TM30 online).
Last weekend
did a quick trip to Pattaya. Marriott probably did a Pattaya TM30.
Is the TM30 currently required if you take a weekend trip within Thailand (and return to same Bangkok condo)?
Pattaya Jomtien IO no longer require TM30s for short trips inside Thailand. I am hoping the same policy is now in place in Bangkok.
Doing one year (non-imm. O) extension at CW Bangkok next week.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for filing a TM30 when returning from short trips within Thailand varies by location and circumstances. Some offices, like Pattaya's, no longer require it for domestic trips. However, experiences differ among expats, with some updating their TM30 regardless of travel, while others have not encountered issues after domestic trips. Bangkok's regulations may change, so it's advised to confirm with local immigration.

Itâs completely different depending on the office you use. In Phuket as an example you need to have a recent filing if youâve entered the country, stayed in a hotel recently or even a night in a hospital. Other offices donât seem to have the same restrictions and although a recent stay somewhere may have âoverwrittenâ your main residence on their system they have a history online so can verify your main address.

I have taken many short trips around Thailand over the last few years and never had an issue regarding TM.30 when doing 90 days or the extension. (BKK)
That being said though, as with everything in Thailand, your mileage may vary

How would they even know that you traveled anywhere?
I don't stress about a few minutes in my life. I have plenty of relaxing time. Some people are unorganised so I guess a few minutes is important to them.
