#tm30addressregistration I read that the TM 30 requirements have eased, and hotels don't have to report every guest. I live at the same address since my last retirement extension and TM 30, but I spent a weekend in Hua Hin since then. Do I need to file a new TM 30? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the requirements for filing a TM 30, particularly after domestic travel in Thailand. Although there have been mentions of eased requirements for TM 30 filings, the consensus among commenters is that hotels are still required to report all guests. However, it's noted that many immigration offices, including Bangkok's, typically require a new TM 30 only for international travel. For the original poster, who traveled within Thailand (to Hua Hin), it is suggested to consult with the local immigration office to determine if filing a new TM 30 is necessary.

I’ve had weekends away from BKK many times and never refiled

a TM 30 with BKK immigration on return to main address in BKK.

The OP is using Chaengwattana (Bangkok immigration) and lives in Bangkok. TM30s are immigration office specific, so I'm removing any posts that mentions people living in other immigration offices.

Thank you.

I m use my condo adress in bkk since 2019.

I travel pattaya , huahin , phuket during this time. I stay in hotel. I never file new tm.30 report. Never have problems in my 90days report. Never have problems renew visa.

me neither. I was under the impression that rule changed some years ago to include only international travel. Also are the various immigration offices all “joined up” to cross check your TM 30s with each other ?

It depends on the immigration office

> Also are the various immigration offices all “joined up” to cross check your TM 30s with each other ?

What does that mean?

For example, if you have filed your TM 30 at your permanent address in BKK and then you go away for the weekend to eg a Phuket hotel (where you’re automatically registered again by the hotel with Phuket immigration), will this Phuket registration then be picked up by BKK immigration on their system? Are the nationwide TM 30 registrations available to be viewed by every immigration office?

@Chris *****
that's correct. The TM30 system is nation wide, and the immigration office can pull up your TM30 history

There is no "eased requirements" for TM30s as far as hotels reporting people. What did ease up was the fact that most offices only require a new TM30 when you come back from international travel not domestic travel.

The question is, does your office follow that or not? 😕 Unfortunately that can't be answered here and I think it's gonna take you slogging out to your office and asking OR trying to file a new TM30.

Thank you. I forgot to include that I live in Bangkok and report to Chaengwattana.

actually in Bangkok you file TM30's at the Muang Thong Thani Immigration office.

Bangkok was one of the offices that tried to follow the "only when returning from international travel" policy but some people got called out for having a TM30 from hotel inside the country and not re-filing, so I dunno what to tell you other than when you file a 90 day report or when you go to get another extension they'll let you know.

I always wondered how that would work with most hotels registering you automatically without telling you 🤔

I do think they have relaxed the TM30 reporting to only be done for international travel but the only way to know for sure without going out there, is to see if they say anything at your next 90 day report or your next extension

right, it’s just that the whole premise would be not to have to worry about asking your landlord to file a new TM30 while you’re already dealing with the headache of an extension just because you spent the week end in a guest house up country 3 months ago 😅

I have no idea where you read that at. Hotels should report all guests.

> Do I need to file a new TM 30?

Ask your local immigration office. I would say yes.
