TM 30 For your information - Went into Chiang Mai immigration today to update my TM30 after spending Saturday night in Mae Hong Son. I was told that I didn't need to update my TM30 even though I spent the night out of the province. Will this be true tomorrow - who knows.

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion addresses the requirements for updating the TM30 form after traveling within Thailand. Users report conflicting information about whether an update is necessary when returning to one's primary address after domestic travel. Generally, it appears that updates are only required after international trips, although some immigration offices may have different policies.

NOT necessarily correct. There is conflicting info being handed out at Chaengwattana. Some officers will tell you that you only re-file a TM30 when you come from overseas and some will tell you that you do it for in country travel too. :/

Nothing has changed since they started enforcing the TM30 law in 2016. The only time you need to update is if you have been overseas and even then - you show your previous slip in your passport, they stamp it, record your new TM6 and you're on your merry way.

ONLY in Chiang Mai and a few places

MANY immigration offices require you to re-file a TM30 when you do in country travel and come back to your primary address.

I heard that you can do that at the Chiang Mai Airport upon arrival. True?

At least concerning the Chiang Mai Immigration office it IS true.

They do not require anyone update their TM30 when returning to your primary address from in-country travel.

You only have to do it when you come back from out of the country
