I took a Multiple Enter Tourist visa few days ago from embassy of Thailand ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ in my country, my question is that:

1.How long can I stay in Thailand with this visa?!

2. If anytime Iโ€™ll go out of Thailand n turn back is it possible to expire it?!

3. If I wanna use runout visa I have to pay money again in the border or not ?!

Itโ€™s really my pleasure if someone can give me little advice ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

TLDR : Answer Summary
With a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa for Thailand, you can stay for 60 days per entry, which can be extended for an additional 30 days. When exiting Thailand and re-entering, you can perform a 'border run' to reset your stay for another 60 days. This process can be repeated multiple times until the visa's expiration. There are no additional fees at the border for this process.

You can actually extend after each 60 days

Can I do 60 days with extension then leave and stamp back in for 60 with another extension so two 90 day stays

Depends on your nationality. Cambodia: Definitely yes. Laos: Has exemptions for certain countries. Including mine (Denmark).

Firstly thanks a lot guys for making this clear. A follow on question. When exiting the boarder don't you need to get a visa for another country like Loas or Cambodia which cost not much less than an extension or how do you minimise fees? Thanks also.

It's a good point Tod. Staying in bkk, though, I vastly prefer extensions to border bounces.

2 extension fees less..therefore cheaper

@Ma***
, it's six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Some people are close to borders where bouncing out and back in is a LOT cheaper than paying 1900baht for a 30 day extension.

No matter which way you do it, you can't wring more than 9 months out of the visa.

ฤฑ still cant understand the benefit of border run every 60 days insted of (60+30, every 90 days)? until now ฤฑ have done border run every 90 days, in total 2 times in METV period and ฤฑ stayed 9 months.

@Sula****
it totals 9 months IF you get the 30 day extension on that last entry you do just before the visa expires.

@Payam ****
itโ€™s a little complicated but follow Tods last comment. You can enter Thailand and exit whenever u like you will get 60 days right up until 14 nog. To maximize your stay in Thailand u can exit and re- enter on the 14th or before and still get 60days making it 9 months.

Wow ok I just learnt something new. Thanks !

& Payam Asa it works like this

enter get 60 days

bounce out back in and get 60 more days

bounce out back in and get 60 more days

JUST before the "must be utilized before" date (14 Nov) bounce out back in and get a FINAL 60 days (taking you to 240 days)

THEN extend that entry by 30 days taking you to 270

Pardon me sir Tod itโ€™s make me little bit confused

It means until 14Nov.2018 I can stay with this visa regularly by the way going out n turn back every 60 day. But I donโ€™t understand what I have to do after 14Nov.2018โ€ผ๏ธโ‰๏ธ
Sulayman ***********
Iโ€™m trying to understand. So after the 1st 60 days u exit and re-enter for another 60 days..do the same a 3rd time which brings u to 6 months and then one extension at the end is only 7 months no? I thght I understood u hve to do the extensions to get a full 9 months out of it?
Tod *********
yes you can BUT it doesn't give you one second worth of more time in the kingdom doing 30 day extensions after every entry.

The ONLY entry that matters that you get the 30 days on is the very last one, because that's the 60 days you get just before the visa expires (which takes you to almost 8 months of stay) and that 30 days on that entry gets you to 9 months ;)

If you arrive you will get 60 days Admitted to Stay, stamped in your passport. Than you have to leave the country, most do a border run, stamp out Thailand, stamp in/out neighbor country and come back to Thailand for a new 60 day period. You can do this as much as you like till the last day 14 Nov 2018. If you do this the last day you still get the 60 days admitted to stay and you can extend this once with another 30 days, this means you can stay almost 270 days inside Thailand with this visa, but doing some border runs. There is no fee at the border.
