Hi I'm after some advice, I have been on a 6 month multiple entry tourist visa which is due to expire on 30th November, I left the country because maximum stay of 60 days was up and have come back in with a 60 day extension. My question is will that 60 day extension still be multiple entry or does the extension expire as soon as I leave and if so could I get a re-entry permit on that visa. Any advice will be extremely helpful. Many thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 60-day extension on your tourist visa does not retain multiple entry privileges after leaving Thailand. Upon exiting, the extension expires unless you obtain a re-entry permit before leaving. This permit allows you to return under the same visa conditions without losing your 60-day stay. However, if you leave after the expiration date of your original visa, your visa will no longer be valid, and you'll need to apply for a new visa or extension.

as has been said you can get a single re-entry permit and it would keep the expiration date of your current 60 day stamp "alive" so you could exit/re-enter the country and get stamped in for the same date. It does NOT add any time to your existing stamp though.

If your enter before date is 30 Sept... You enter on 15 Sept. You can stay in Thailand until 15 Nov or 15 Dec if you extend it. If you plan to travel before 30 Sept, don't apppy for re-entry permit because you can come back up until 30 Sept. But if you travel after 30 Sept, your Visa would then be expired, so you must apply for re-entry permit in order to keep the date of 15 Dec alive when you come back.

Yes you can. And on re entry they will stamp the same date till around 14 November as you mention in your example.

I meant, for example:

If enter before date is 30 september 2017;

Got a 60 day stamp on 15 september till around 14 november;

On day -for example- 30 october can I ask a re-entry permit? My doubt is because on 30 october my stamp is valid but my enter before date on visa is expired

, seeing as it was a multi-entry tourist visa it wouldn't have made sense to get a re-entry permit while it was valid.

The re-entry permit he would get now on the 60 day "admitted until" stamp will be valid as long as the stamp is.

Tod, the re-entry permit must be got within the original expiration of the visa or can be obtained even if the visa "entry before date" is expired but the current stamp is still valid?

ok Tod many thanks makes more sense now.

Now is the perfect chance to exit/enter before 30 Nov and you will get an additional 60 days plus 30 day extension, so you wont need to leave until End of February.

You have 2 options. You can either pay 1200 Baht for a re-entry permit and then you can come back and still stay until End of February. Or when you leave in December, don't apply for the re-entry permit and apply for a new Tourist Visa and then when you come back in December, you'll have that for 60 or 90 days if you choose to extend it.

Hi Lopez many thanks for that unfortunately I will need to leave for a few days in December so trying to work out the best way to either use what I have or work out what visa to get to come back in on.

It is not an extension. The Visa gives you a period of stay inside Thailand, stamped in your passport as Admitted to Stay ../../.. This period ends at leaving Thailand, stamped with the triangle stamp with date of exit. Your Visa expire on 30 Nov and after this day it is just for memory in your passport. If you want to leave after 30 Nov for few days during your current Admitted to Stay period you can use a re-entry permit, which will give you the same date stamp on return as the date you have now.

It ends as soon as you leave the Country.

By the way, if you are not planning to leave, before this current 60 day stamp expires, you can get a 30 more day extension at any Immigration office inside Thailand

You can get it.

Can I ask you when your "enter before date" on your sticker visa expires?
