How does a Multiple Entry Visa affect my stay in Thailand if I exit and re-enter?

I just entered Thailand with a Multiple entry visa a 60 days from Canada. It is good for six months. I understand that i need to exit the country to get another 60 days during that six months. First question: i know that if i cross the border by land i only get 15 days instead of 30 days compared to flying as per regular visa run. Is it different with this type of visa?

Second question: let’s say i come back to Thailand on month 5.5 of my visa, do i get 2 weeks or i get another 2 months?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand with a Multiple Entry Visa, you are granted 60 days regardless of whether you enter by land or air. This is different from the visa exemption rules, which typically grant only 15 days at land borders. Your Multiple Entry Visa allows for multiple 60-day stays as long as you exit and re-enter. Additionally, even if you return just before your visa expires, you will still receive another 60 days upon entry.

I used to stretch METV's for 9 months. Do a border bounce a day or two before the visa expires, that gives 60 days + you can extend 30 days.

When you cross immigration land/air they should give you 60 days.. But you want to double check they actually give 60 days. Those guys have to deal with a lot of people and mistakes are easy to make.

No, if you have a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa you'll get 60 days everytime you enter, land or airport. If you enter on the last day the visa is valid for, you'll get 60 days also.

I've used the multiple entry from Canada many times. I typically get my 60 days which is usually 57 days and a visa extention. I then do an out and in on a land border and receive another 60 days. If your still short do another extension. This is the most expensive option!

15 days via a land border entry is an old rule for people entering with no visa - called visa exempt. In 2016 it changed to 30 days (the same as by air), but you’re limited to two entries per calendar year. However you have a visa, which is multiple entry. You could cross a land border and come back in every day if you so wished. Each entry will give you 60 days.

This is good news Stuart. My plan is to enter with a ME visa, On entry I get 60 days then extend for another 30 days (1900 bah at immigration office)

Then exit Thailand and come back with another 60 days added, and then final extension for 30 days (1900 baht) at immigration office . (As yous say could do it a third time for 9 months stay)

So if you time things right and do a border run on the last couple of days of your visa you’ll get stamped in for 60 days, which you can extend at an immigration office for 30 days, giving you almost 9 months stay out of that visa.
