Can someone explain to me how the visa duration is calculated? I just arrived, I have a 90 day visa, starting from 30-July. My passport stamp says it should end on the 27th October, but wolfram alpha and my flight out π° say the 28th October. I can (costly) change my flight out, or beg for a 7 day extension, but Iβd rather know if itβs my mistake before I spend the money.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The duration of a 90-day visa in Thailand is calculated by counting the day of entry as the first day. For a visa issued on July 30, 2018, this means the visa is valid until October 27, 2018, totaling 89 days from the day of entry. There are options available if the visa holder is concerned about overstaying, such as seeking a 7-day extension for a fee or leaving the country and receiving a fine for a short overstay.
