Can someone explain to me how the visa duration is calculated? I just arrived, I have a 90 day visa, starting from 30-July. My passport stamp says it should end on the 27th October, but wolfram alpha and my flight out 😰 say the 28th October. I can (costly) change my flight out, or beg for a 7 day extension, but I’d rather know if it’s my mistake before I spend the money.

The O/P has two choices;

do nothing, get an 'overstay under 24 hours fine waived' stamp at the airport when they fly out

OR

go to immigrations' get an 'application for extension not approved' 7 day stamp to get out of thailand for 1900baht.

Any way you slice it, those are the choices available. ;)

If you're indeed on a 90 day visa (which is ONLY a Non-Immigrant Type one) your admitted until date is 89 days from the date you stamped in.

Jonathan Daniel Extension is 30 days, so if a month has 31 days you still do not loose a day, but your counting is wrong.

They count the day you arrive as day 1 ;)
