How does the validity of a tourist visa in Thailand work with regards to my travel dates and entry stamp?

My visa confirmation looks like it is not for the travel dates I gave. It says something like "good until December something" so I am inferring that it will be 60 days from my stamp date. I've landed at 11:30 and am going to loiter 30 minutes and see if it results in an extra day.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The visa confirmation indicates it is valid for 90 days from the issue date, not necessarily aligned with your travel dates. If your landing is around midnight, the entry stamp's effective date may shift to the next day. Additionally, a tourist visa must be utilized within three months from the date it was issued, and upon arrival, you will typically receive a 60-day stay. Make sure to travel before the visa expiry date shown on your confirmation.

You must use your visa within 3 months of being issued . Then you will be stamped in for 60 days .

So you must arrive before it expires in Decmber xx as it says on the confirmation

I may mean you have travel (use) before the stamp date in December.

A tourist visa is valid for 90 days from the day it's issued regardless of what you put in your application.

If you land at 11:30pm but don't cross passport control until after midnight, your stamp should start on the new day that started at midnight.

You might need to ask though if the officer isn't paying attention to the time.
