A question about a 90 day Tourist Visa.
We were just issued a visa at an Embassy. We fly into Thailand on the 6th. We were aware you get 60 days and then need to go to Immigration to extend it. Our end flights were booked for 2nd November, the 88th day. The Embassy was aware we arrive on the 6th.
We have just picked the passports up and it states that it's Valid from 2nd August to 1st Nov. If we cone in on the 6th August and stay the 60 days, then get a 30 day extension, do we need to leave on the 1st of November, when the visa expires? Or does the 60 days start from the 6th August and when we get the 30 day extension, will it be valid until the 4th November?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but just a bit confused. Thanks for any insight.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day tourist visa issued from the embassy allows entry into Thailand until November 1st. Upon entering Thailand on August 6th, the 60-day stay begins immediately and can be extended for an additional 30 days at an immigration office. Thus, if you enter Thailand on August 6th, your stay could potentially last until November 4th with the extension, but you must leave by November 1st as that is the expiration of the visa validity for entry.
