Hello. we are planning our 4 month trip to Thailand. we get a 60 day visa from home. do you count the day you land in Thailand as day 1? for example, we land on 9 November. is the 10th of November then day no 2? π
if our visa expires on a weekend? then I guess we will have to move it forward so that we get an extension of 30 days on a Friday at an immigration office. is that right? π
it's a bit of a jungle to find your way around the rules and you don't want to break the rules π
thanks in advance for the help
TLDR : Answer Summary
When traveling to Thailand on a 60-day visa, the day of arrival is considered day 1. Therefore, if you arrive on November 9, the following day, November 10, would be day 2. You can apply for a 30-day extension during the last month of your stay, and it is advisable to do so before your visa expires, ideally at an immigration office that is open any day of the week. A visa run to a neighboring country is an option for longer stays.
