Hi I am currently in Vietnam, but my flight back to England is on the 28th Dec from Thailand. I am wondering if my 30 day visa includes the day you arrive into Thailand and what happens if you are over by one day please. It’s just all the flights from Vietnam go up quite a lot right at the end of Nov, so we are wanting to get back there’s asap. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A 30-day visa exempt entry to Thailand includes the day of arrival as day one. If you overstay by one day, usual practice indicates that you may receive only a stamp in your passport without a fine, especially if the overstay is less than 24 hours.

There is no such thing as a 30 day VISA to thailand. :O You would get a 30 day visa exempt entry and they count the day you arrive and stamp in as day ONE..

30 days is 29 nights . Many get caught on this .

You get on entry the 30 day Visa Exempt Entry, if you show up without a visa. The day of arrival is day nr 1, when you leave at international airport with less than 24 hours of overstay, normally they act as Raymond wrote. Small talk, a stamp and no fine.

I overstayed by 1 day on my last visit , got taken aside and got stamp in my passport and got told no fine for one day
