TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a 90-day visa but received a stamp for only 58 days upon entry. The community clarifies that the visa is a Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV), which allows for a 60-day stay upon entry. The user can extend this stay for an additional 30 days at a Thai immigration office for a fee.

No you don't have a 90 day visa, you have a 60 day tourist visa. When you are issued a tourist visa, you must enter before it expires before 90 days. Right now you can extend for 30 days and then also get a COVID extension after that, if needs be.

OK folks...

Simply he has a SETV ...

SINGLE ENTRY TOURIST VISA...

...when issued it must be used with 90 days..

...upon arrival he is stsmped in for 60 days

With the day of arrival counting as day #1.

...he can extend the tourist visa one time for added 30 days at Thai Immigration office for 1,900 Thai baht.

If you post the full visa and block the important info with small pieces of paper, we could help you more.

However, 90 days is the likely "maximum stay in Thailand" (as described in the embassy website above).

Maybe it's a STV (special tourist visa), but without a picture of the actual visa (minus your name, address, etc. obviously), we can't help you much more. We need something to work with. πŸ˜„

STV is available on eVisa system. But TR is usual tourist visa (single/multi entry). Special Tourist Visa should be indicated as STV.
Keven ****
STV (special tourist visa) doesn't seem to be available as an eVisa.

I think I got it. Maximum duration of stay is 90 days.

"TR Visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. Travellers must enter Thailand within the said 3-month period. They will be allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 60 days, counting from the date of entry. Extension is possible for another 30 days, with maximum period of stay of 90 days, counting from the date of entry."

What is that a picture of?

@Benjamin *****
it’s an e visa

I'll assume it's an e-visa for a single entry tourist visa. You are granted a 59 day stay on entry, with a single 30 day extension of stay based on tourism, letting you stay for no more then 89 days.

@Benjamin *****
Is it maybe an STV (special tourist visa)?

@Keven ***
Great question. For the visa conditions, it says "single", and "Tourist"

@Benjamin *****
I'm as confused as you. Haha.

It's the photograph of the e-visa, and how it's not "straight on". It does say "TR",I think, which is the code for a 90 day tourist visa.

one extension for 30 days gives you 90 in total
Keven ****
It means you have to use the visa within 90 days.

@Gerald *******
OP is trying to know what the 90 days is.
Gerald ********
If he is at the airport getting it stamped then it is quite clearly being used πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Keven ****
Is it an SETV (single-entry tourist visa)?

It’s says on the visa length of stay in Thailand 90 day
Benjamin ******
You entered on a single entry tourist visa. The visa itself is valid for 90 days. On entry, you are stamped in, and can stay in Thailand for 59 days. You can get ONE extension of stay based on tourism at the local immigration office.
