Quick question.

Work Permit expired 15 Jan 2018.

Visa expires today.

If leaving the country say next 3 days, only pay overstay fee of 3 days or start counting from when WP expires?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around the calculation of overstay fees if leaving Thailand after a visa expires. The individual asks whether the fee for overstaying is counted from the visa expiration date or from the earlier expiration of their work permit. Comments address the necessity of canceling a work permit and highlight potential issues with future employment if not managed properly.

Thanks Tod, just did the cancellation 3 days ago and will head to the immigration office after tomorrow as there's an holiday on 1st. Another thing is I got employed by another company and just wanted to know if it will be possible to get a new WP without leaving the Kingdom?

In theory when you are stopping work you needed to go cancel your work permit and then go to the immigration office and cancel your extension.

Simply letting them run out doesn't cancel them and IF you ever wanna work here again you will run into problems with both the Ministry of Labor and the Immigration Office.
