Good morning. I have a different expire date for visa and work permit. If a work permit expires without prolongation, can I still stay in thailand until the visa expires? Thank youπŸ™πŸ»

TLDR : Answer Summary
If your work permit expires without being prolonged, you must leave Thailand by 11:59 PM on the same day of expiration, unless you apply for another extension of stay that is not guaranteed to be approved. Your ability to stay in Thailand may depend on the type of visa or extension you hold.

What you really can do depends on that which of extension or entry from visa you have and what day your permitted until stamp is.

If your work permit is ending soon, you only have till March 30th to apply for covid extension if you want to stay.

I'm almost certain I've answered this question before.

> can I still stay in thailand until the visa expires

Are you on a visa (i.e. "the sticker") or an extension of stay ("the stamp"). I doubt you're on a visa, and assume you're on an extension of stay.

When you got your extension of stay based on employment, one criteria to keep your extension of stay alive is to have a valid work permit. Once the work permit is cancelled, you have until 11:59PM the same day to leave Thailand, OR to get another extension of stay (like a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19).

IF you apply for another extension of stay that you don't qualify for, it will be rejected and you'll have 7 days to leave Thailand.
