TLDR : Answer Summary
With a Non-O Retirement Visa, you cannot do a 90-day report immediately after re-entering Thailand. The 90-day reporting requirements begin after you apply for a one-year extension of stay, which you would receive upon renewal. After your extension, a piece of paper will indicate when your first 90-day report is due. It's important to note that the 90-day report is based on your physical presence in Thailand for 90 consecutive days, separate from the visa or extension status. Additionally, be cautious about re-entry permits, as missing this before leaving Thailand may affect your status.

I guess you are making the most common mistake: You confuse your “one-year extended stay permit based on retirement” with a “visa”

If you read the stamp in your passport correctly, it says “Extension of Stay Permitted until” and the date of expiry.

NOTE: If you missed to buy a re-entry permit before you made the trip to Malaysia, your stay permit is expired. Then you were just stamped in for a “visa-exempt entry” and received an “admitted stay” stamp for 30 days. Please check your entry stamp!

If you bought a re-entry permit, and if you actually are on a “1-year Extension”, you got stamped in until the date of the expiry of this “1-year stay permit”

The 90-days report duty expired when you exited Thailand, and the “90-days report clock” started again upon your re-entry, with the day of entry being day number one.

With your Non O retirement visa it’s not possible to do a 90 day report as you can’t stay in Thailand for more than 90 days.

When you go to file for your year extension it is at that point the 90 days will start. Generally they’ll put a small piece of paper in your passport showing you when your first 90 day report will be due.

Be aware that after this extension renewals and 90 day reports are not linked. You do a 90 day report when you have been in Thailand for a consecutive 90 days and you do a renewal when it’s due.
