TLDR : Answer Summary
The community consensus is that once you leave Thailand, the requirement for the 90-day report ceases. Upon your return, the counting restarts from day one. Therefore, you do not need to return by March 1st, as you can report after you come back, and it will reset then. It's important to ensure that you obtained a re-entry permit before leaving.
