What should I do about my 90-day report requirement if I leave Thailand for an extended period on my retirement visa?

Hello, I've got my retirement visa for 1 year. Now, every 90 days, i need to report... My problem is: on July 10, I am going 1. to my country, 2. to other places, and may not be back before january 2024.

I already have the stamp to leave Thailand (I paid 1000 THB for that). I went to the immigration office, but I couldn't understand their reply. Can you pls help me. Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the procedures related to their 90-day reporting requirement after leaving Thailand on a retirement visa. Commenters clarify that if the user leaves Thailand before their next 90-day report is due, the 90-day counting resets to zero and will restart upon their return to Thailand. They also emphasize the importance of having a re-entry permit to keep the visa valid during their absence.

If you leave before your first 90 day report then you count

days from when you return.

However You do either need a re-entry permit (which I think you have for the 1000baht) or multi entry re-entry permit for your 1 year extension still to be valid when you return to Thailand

If July 10 is before your next 90 days report due, you don't have to worry about 90 days report until you will be back in Thailand January 2024.

90 days count stops and reset to zero when you leave Thailand. It will be re-started counting when you are back to Thailand as arriving date as day 1.

90 days report is a "Notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days", to notify that you are continuously in Thailand 90 days or more.

thank you so much.

When you are back to Thailand, you need to count 90 days 89 nights by yourself.
