TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks to extend their Non-O visa for an additional month and inquires about obtaining a letter from the embassy. Responses indicate that UK nationals may not be eligible for the embassy letter necessary for a 30-day extension. Alternatives mentioned include applying for a 60-day family visit extension if married to a Thai citizen or having Thai children. Additionally, there are updates about the ability to apply for a COVID extension for those on non-immigrant visas, particularly following new regulations.

you need to slog on over to the immigration office with your thai wife/children and see if you can get the 60 day visit thai family extension BUT if you can't get that see if they'll let you get the 60 day covid extension. <- they should do it on this current program that started march 26th

This has changed with the latest covid scheme. Those on a non imm visa can apply for a covid extension

well if you're married to a thai and have thai kids GO get a 60 day visit thai family extension. You can get that ONCE per entry so shouldn't have a problem getting it from a 90 day Non-O entry

If you can't get that 60 day visit family extension your option is to leave the country and come back either on a visa exempt or a tourist visa (that you buy from a thai consulate in a nearby country that's open)

Sadly for you, if you are from the UK they don' t offer the letter 😕

So there is no one month extension you can get on a Non-O visa. 🙁

With that letter you could apply for a 30 day 'embassy request' extension.

You are correct you can't get a 60 day covid extension from a Non-Immigrant type visa

What is the reason you have a non-O visa for?

"Hi there I just need some advice and clarity for what I am doing and applying for. I lived in Bangkok before for over 6 years working as an English Teacher. I also have a Thai wife and 2 boys. I returned back to England about 3 years ago for multiple reason am only returning now.

I wish to get over there and then land a teaching job securing another visa through that. I’m not sure if a tourist visa or non immigrant visa o is best. I have more than enough in my bank as evidence and a letter of invitation. I booked my flight for 17th Jan and hotel with 1 night test and go. I didn’t start my Thai pass so now will change my hotel to 7days quarantine. I do however already have my insurance and booked my PCR test this end. I’m double vaccinated and will print out certificates. So main questions are what have I missed and what Visa should I apply for?

Thanks in advance"
