Is the COVID extension pretty much a sure thing for anyone who wants it?
I saw you need a letter from your embassy saying that you can't return? But I'm pretty sure I *could* return (to the USA)... So, will I be able to get the COVID extension?
So far, I entered with a 45-day visa exemption, then got a 30-day extension. Just wondering if I'll be able to add 60 more to this.
Thank you!!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The COVID visa extension is generally available to those who apply, but requirements can vary by immigration office. While a letter from your embassy is typically needed to confirm inability to return home, some offices accept alternative documents, such as printed information from the embassy's website stating they do not issue such letters. If you can return home but still wish to apply for the extension, you may be required to provide an explanation for your stay.
