COVID extension - Canadian

Hi, I'm wondering if any Canadians have recently received a COVID extension? If so, how did you get the embassy letter that is required?

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
Canadians seeking a COVID extension in Thailand need to provide certain documentation to immigration offices. You must obtain one of three documents: a letter from the Canadian embassy stating you cannot return, a printout from the embassy's website indicating they do not issue such letters, or a printout of a previous letter from the embassy declining to issue them. It’s advised to contact the embassy directly to inquire about the availability of these letters as some users have noted that these have not been issued for a while.

I'm closing comments. If you are from Canada, and you need the letter, you'll need to ask the embassy directly by e-mail. Thank you.

For the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, you need ONE of the three following documents at SOME immigration office

A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR;

A print out from your embassy website saying they don’t issue the letters, OR;

A print out of a letter from the embassy saying they don't issue those letters.

(Note the OR's).

Submit ONE of thee three and you'll be fine 🙂

Unless I'm mistaken they haven't issued that letter for a good long while..

Did you email your embassy and ask them if they issue it?

Canadian here. They don't issue them and we were not asked for a letter at either the Chiang Mai or Satun Immigration offices.

Yes I'm waiting for a response. If they are not issuing it , can I still get the extension with a print out of the email?
