Hi guys!

Can you apply for a covid extension (60days) even if you come in to Thailand on a 30 day exemption stamp ? We would love to get the 60 days rather than the 30 days extension —> then leaving the kingdom and getting stamped back in for an additional 30 days so that the total of 90 days is without leaving Thailand...I’m just not sure if this is possible when u come to Thailand without a visa and only a 30 day stamp on arrival 🙂 would be brill as we have a baby and with all the tests /Thai pass etc would make life a lot easier!

Thank you for you’re help and guidance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires if it's possible to apply for a 60-day COVID extension while in Thailand on a 30-day exemption stamp. They prefer this over leaving the country for a fresh stamp to extend their stay to 90 days. A commenter advises that most immigration offices will require obtaining a regular 30-day extension before being eligible for a COVID extension, with the last application date for this extension currently set for July 25th.

Almost all immigration offices will require you to get a “regular” 30 day extension before allowing you to apply for a Covid extension. The last date to apply for a Covid extension is currently Jul 25th.

so what would that mean? 30 day extension with an additional 30 days or apply again after the 30 days super confusing 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

you get 30 days on you visa exempt stamp when you enter Thailand, then you apply for the one 30 day extension you are allowed. After that you are eligible to apply for the covid extension, but it is not guaranteed that you will get it, especially if you travel to another country during your 30 days plus your 30 day extension, as you are showing you can leave the country. The covid extension is actually an unable to travel extension because of covid, so don't prove to them that you can travel.
