Hi everyone -

I have question regarding the TM30. My company already cancel my visa and work permit but I got another buffer extension for 21 days (due to BOI). Before this expired, Im going to apply for covid extension but I planning to move from Bangkok to my mother in law's house in Udon Thani. If I register myself using her address in Udon Thani for the TM30, can I apply the extension in Bangkok before I move out? Or does it need to be in the same city/province as my TM30 registered?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around the TM30 registration and its implications for applying for a COVID extension. The individual asks whether they can apply for this extension in Bangkok even if they plan to register their TM30 using their mother-in-law's address in Udon Thani. Responses suggest that typically, the application for a stay extension must be completed at the same immigration office where the request is made, implying that the individual should ideally wait until they are in Udon to apply. Additionally, there is mention of alternatives such as applying for a long-term extension based on marriage if applicable.

IF you are indeed legally married to a thai you could go straight from this 21 day "extension cancelled" stamp to a year extension based on marriage to a thai national without even getting a covid extension..

Go to the Udon immigration office with your thai husband and get the hand out listing the documents required to apply for the year extension based on marriage and go that route.

Be sure you check the entry requirements for your destination... Added at home quarantine required for entering Udon Thani from Bangkok is likely.

At most immigration offices (including Bangkok) when you apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, you are given an under consideration stamp, where you must return to the same immigration office to close it out.

I recommend applying for the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 after you are in Udon.

understood, and I agree that would be more convenience ..

But putting to close the loop for the consideration stamp aside, I wonder whether it is possible/allowed to apply for the covid extension in different city from where my TM30 address is registered?

, In Bangkok, TM30 is more likely asked when you are applying for Covid extension from a Non-immigrant type of visa/ extension. If asked for TM30 and your latest TM30 is in another province, you cannot apply for an extension in Bangkok.

If the immigration office does not ask for the TM30, then you can apply for the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19; if they do, then you'll need the TM30.
