Do I need to show a bank statement every year for visa extension, and do I need to be married to apply as a spouse?

I have 2 questions:

Do I have to show the bank statement for the visa extension every year? Or only with the first application?

Is living in the same household enough to apply as "spouse"? Or do we have to be married?

Thank you! 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for bank statements during visa extensions depends on the type of visa. Some users mentioned it may be necessary to provide documents again for an extension, while others suggested that once you have the Digital Visa (DTV), you don't need yearly renewals. As for the spousal application, it is emphasized that you must be legally married; simply living together does not qualify you as a spouse in the context of Thai immigration.

DTV is valid for 5 years with multiple entry. So you don't need to renewal or extend every year. However, each saty is 180 days. If you are planning to stay more then 180 days, you need to extend your stay at immigration office for another 180 days. Even though, you can stay 180 days, you still need to submit TM90 (Notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days), before your 90 days stay due.

You need to be legally married.

No you don't. It's a 5 year visa and it doesn't have any requirements after you get a visa.

You have to be actually married to be a spouse. Living together makes no difference.

You don't extend a DTV once a year. Each entry gets you stamped in for 180 days at the end of which you can apply for a 180 day extension once then must leave the country, or you can just do a border bounce every 180 days (or less)

Rumors suggest that you may need to provide the documents again for an extension. Exiting and re-entering Thailand might help you avoid this requirement, depending on the discretion of immigration officials. Keep in mind that individuals on education visas have sometimes been refused entry because they couldn't speak even a few words of Thai. So, everything is possible, and nothing is confirmed.

Nobody yet knows the requirements for an in country DTV extension. You have to be legally married to be a spouse. Living together is not acceptable.
