How does the visa extension process work for a spouse of a holder of a year-long extension in Thailand?

You said in one discussion that quote « for a couple that is married only ONE person needs to meet the financial requirements to get the year long extension and their spouse will get a matching extension based on being married to someone who has a yearly extension here. »

If this is the case, how does it work? Does my husband need to apply first and I apply once he had been granted, or do we apply together? And are there any restrictions on this sort of visa for me the spouse (other than staying with my husband)?

, you are incorrect. It only takes ONE spouse to meet the financial requirements and the other one 'piggy backs' onto their extension. BOTH people do NOT have to meet the requirements.

No, she will be dependent on her husband.

Your husband need a visa for which he can apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay and meet all those requirements. You need the Non Immigrant O visa and can than apply for an Extension of Stay based on being dependent of your husband and match his Extension of Stay. You can apply for these Extensions at the same time.
