Hi,

I have two burning questions about extending my NON-O (based on marriage) for a year by keeping 400kthb in the bank.

- Can the funds be proven with a bank statement or do I need anything else?

- Is it necessary to change the name in the house book?

Thank you very much

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your NON-O visa based on marriage, you need to show a bank statement with a minimum of 400,000 THB held in a Thai bank account under your name for at least 2 months before applying. Additionally, some applicants have mentioned that it may be necessary to update your bank book on the day of application and provide a bank letter confirming your funds. Regarding changing the name in the house book, it seems not to be explicitly required, but it may vary based on circumstances.

At Samut Prakan I had to make a deposit/ withdrawal on the day of application and get an updated bank book along with the Bank letter.

you show 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name for 2 months before you apply for the extension. The bank will write a letter and you will update the bank book on the date you apply for the extension to show the money is still there.

Do I need to do anything with my wife's house book?

GO to your immigration office and get the hand out that lists the documents you need for the yearly extension. Take your wife so she can make sure to ask about all of it. You don't want to get there to apply and be missing something.

IT will be well worth the trip to go and get the hand out NOW, compile the documents and then go apply for the extension

You will if that's where you're staying. Head to your immigration and pick up a form, it will contain all the documents required for that immigration office.
