Hi. Just got my extension stamp yesterday at CW for my yearly extension base on marriage. Just wanted to check has it now changed that they don't want to see funds or check bank book any more. They used to want to see your book on the day you come to get the stamp after the under consideration period. Yesterday they didn't want to see anything. Just passport, had the stamp in 10mims.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Users report that the Thai immigration office no longer requires bank statements during the extension process based on marriage, having made significant changes recently. One user noted that their extension was processed in just 10 minutes without needing to show any financial documents, indicating a shift in policy from previous years where bank books were required.

My husband got a yearly extension stamp on April. They don’t ask to see any document on the day. Got the stamp and out in 10 mins.

well seeing as every extension is a NEW yearly extension, that's why they need all new documents, bank letters, copies, photos, etc, It's because no matter how many you got in the past this one you're applying for is NEW extension application 😛

if you are using banked money method you need to have the 400K baht back in an account in your name only 2 months before you apply for the next yearly extension

If you are using monthly income method you need to have been transferring in 40K baht a month, each month, every month for the previous 12 months before you apply for the next yearly extension

plus they'd have to fire half the staff if they required less paper, I mean it takes a LOT of people to file all that paperwork

Yes that's correct. Was only 3 weeks. Ah ok...good to know. Not that I'm desperate to whip out the money but they seemed to make such a deal last year so was curious.

did you notice they also went to a 3 weeks under consideration stamp? Two friends only got 3 week under consideration stamps on their marriage extensions.

And you're correct they didn't tell you when you applied that you needed to update your bankbook and make a copy, so that policy was rescinded some time in the past
