TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your 90-day visa to a 1-year visa while residing in Thailand, you need to meet certain banking requirements. Since you are married to a Thai citizen, you should open a Thai bank account and deposit at least 400,000 baht into it. This money must remain in your account (in your name only, not in a joint account) for at least two months before applying for the extension. It's also essential to bring your marriage license when you apply for the extension, as it is a crucial document. Always visit the immigration office with your Thai spouse to ensure smooth communication and to obtain a list of necessary documents.

Do you have a marriage license? If yes, where did you get married? You need it when applying for the 1 year extension if it's based on marriage. This is probably the most important document.
the Kor Ror 3 and 2 (rose bordered marriage certificate) will not be accepted as proof when you apply for the extension. Immigration will want to see the Kor Ror 22 instead. This is the freshly printed marriage registry excerpt, showing that you are still married. Just imagine - you could show them a 10 year old rose bordered marriage certificate whilst you are already divorced since 5 years. That's why only a freshly printed registry document is enough of a proof
exactly what the "formal requirements" say: you are not "registering" your marriage inside Thailand, for which you would need Kor Ror 2 and 3. However, you are applying on Immigration for a "1-year extension of stay", so you need to prove your "family status" on the date of application, and this can only been done by going to the Amphoe and ask them for a fresh and actual marriage registry document Kor Ror 22
Then it's a walk in the park regarding the marriage license. You just need to get a stamped and signed marriage license from the district office (amphur) where you registered.

If you are married to a Thai citizen then as soon as you get here open a Thai bank account and transfer bt400,000 into it right away. Also go to immigration with your Thai wife, and get the list of documents needed for your one year extension. When you have all the documents, and your money has been in your account (in your name only, not a joint account), for at least two months then you can apply for your extension. Just remember, your required bank letters can not be any older than 7 days. Everytime you are dealing with immigration concerning this extension always take your wife with you, or they won't talk to you.
it all depends on where you have the bt400,000. Savanaket now requires the bt400,000, or equivalent, in your bank account somewhere. Not necessarily in Thailand, but in Thailand you need the bt400,000 in a Thai bank first. In either situation it is first a 90 day stamp, giving you enough time to get everything together to apply for your one year extension. It also depends on how many days you have left on your original entry stamp into the country. Usually somewhere between 15-21 days, but I'm not sure of the exact days as it can vary between immigration offices.
