Do I need to report my presence to Immigration after returning to Thailand on a retirement visa?

Mar 15, 2024
Hello! I got one-year retirement visa on June 17, 2023. I left Thailand in July 2023. I have just come back March 12.

Do I have to show up at the Immigration office to signal my presence? Or just wait for approximately June 17 this year for another visa?

Thank you so much for your help

TLDR : Answer Summary
After returning to Thailand on a one-year retirement visa, you may need to comply with certain immigration reporting requirements. It is necessary to check with your local Thai Immigration office about filing a new TM30 address registration, as many offices require this upon arrival in the country. Failing to do so might result in fines when you apply for your next visa extension. Additionally, you will need to complete your 90-day reporting starting from the date of entry into Thailand.

In the Jomtien office you need to update or file a new TM30 when you return to Thailand and you start 90 days from the date of your entry

I believe you will be due a 90 day report after 90 day ( Day of arrival counts as day 1) and apply for your extension 30 days before the one you have now runs out

Contact your local Thai Immigration office ....Ask them for their requirements for the TM 30 address registration.

Many offices now require a new TM30 address registration be filed with Thai Immigration when you Return to Thailand.

Which Thai Immigration office do you use ?

and while that is TRUE. MANY do not as they are seeking to AVOID paying Thai taxes on the rental income.

so the 90 days report is basically showing up to show your presence at immigation.... Which is what he asked and what he has to do at the immigration or virtually online....

If you don't file a new TM30 there's a possibility of a 800 or 1600B fine when you go for your next extension so, as they say, up to you
