I've read on this group many conflicting posts regarding the TM30 - do/don't I have report my whereabouts after my absence from my last registered address with Thai Immigration.

My experience yesterday - Fri, 03/01/20.

I have a Retirement Visa, I'm currently registered with Thai Immigration as staying in Korat (I have a small home here), I spent 4 nights away from my home, I phoned-up the Thai Immigration office in Chok Chai prior to my return to my address in Korat, their TM30 reply: "yes, you must report your return to your address within 24 hours"

However, I told them that "I wouldn't be arriving back at my home until Fri evening, & it would be too late for me to report that day, could I report Sat morning instead, no, holiday here Sat, you must report Monday"

So, the TM30 Rule is still in force here!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 rule requires foreigners in Thailand to report their whereabouts to Immigration within 24 hours of returning to their registered address. Experiences may vary by immigration office, with some offices enforcing the rule strictly while others show leniency.

yes, you are correct. The law is still in force, no changes since 1979.

But not every Immigration Office is enforcing the law in the same way, according this law every foreigner should be registered within 24 hours after arriving at an address. Some offices say we understand you come back to the same address after visiting a friend a few days in the next city, others say no, your friend has to report and you have to report. Some offices are strict with the rule, others have some leniency, best way to find out is what you did. Contact your office to ask.

thanx, and this goes to show that there is NO rhyme or reason and before you think your immigration office is like most offices which don't require a new TM30 for in province travel CHECK with them ..
