Thanks for letting me in. I was wondering for people who travel with small children (don't need to go to school/kindergarten) and intend to stay longterm in Thailand.
Do you bother to get visa for them? As I understand children under 14 years of age does not get any punishment for overstaying, but can there be any other bad implications for overstaying with a 1 year old baby?
Thanks in advance! ๐๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community response confirms that children under 14 years old do not face penalties for overstaying in Thailand. However, it is recommended to obtain a non-O visa for dependents, as this may prevent future complications despite current leniencies. The process is relatively easy and inexpensive.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.

Yes thereโs technically no penalties itโs still probably better to organise them with a non O dependent that follows your long term visa. There is no financial requirement for that other than the 1,900 baht fee. Down the line the laws or rules may change and it could cause a stumbling block in the future
