Hi all. Do you know how strict immigration is for visas for babies/toddlers? We need to renew our 13 month old daughter's visa. Someone at my work mentioned they don't really charge overstay for babies/toddlers, is that true? And if not, is the only other option is a visa run to Cambodia?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus is that immigration rules are less strict for children under 14 years of age. There are no overstay fines for babies and toddlers, so parents can renew their child's visa without much concern. However, for long-term residency, it may be necessary to resolve any overstay issues to facilitate future schooling. Visa runs to Cambodia might still be considered if there are complications.

If you plan on living in Thailand long term, you'll need to leave and return to clear up their overstay so you can enroll them in school when the time comes, since most schools require them to not be on overstay to enroll
Don't really have to worry about children until their 14. There's no overstay fine for children and won't effect them. Just make sure they get a new passport after they turn 18.
