I have 2 kids, 1 year old and 4 year old. Both US passports. Been in CM 6 months, neither have left. Husband potentially has work permit, kids & myself can go under his work permit. Currently myself & husband under tourist visas, kids have not left thailand since being here. Question - how to avoid paying overstay for kids when we all do the visa run for husbands Non-O visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about avoiding overstay fees for their children while performing a visa run for their husband's Non-O visa. Comments clarify that children under 15 cannot be fined for overstay, and children under 18 are not banned for overstay. However, they cannot obtain a visa while in overstay status inside the country; the family must leave Thailand and re-enter to secure a clean entry stamp for processing visas.

neither child can get a visa issued inside the country while on overstay.
She'd have to get stamped out of the country and then stamp back in so she's on a 'fresh' entry stamp and can get the ED visa processed inside the country.
my husband and I are in the process of getting proper visas. Our children are still on overstay. Our daughter is eligible to get an education visa through her international school. Can you confirm if she will have problems with this. My understanding is If we leave the country with her and come back she will get a visa on arrival and then we turn that into an education visa.... Also my son, 18 months could he go under my education visa or is there a visa I can get for him since he is not in school?
they WILL get overstay stamps in their passports BUT at this time the only consulate that an overstay stamp affects your ability to get a visa from is the one in Penang and that's for getting a tourist visa.
