TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler has a 4-hour layover in Bangkok while flying from Cambodia to the UK and is inquiring about the need for a Thai Pass and transit visa. Based on community responses, it appears that since the traveler will need to collect and re-check their baggage, they are not considered to be transiting and will require a Thai Pass, along with following COVID-19 protocols such as hotel bookings and potential testing. It is also noted that obtaining the Thai Pass may take up to 7 days.

it can take up to 7 days to receive your Thailand Pass (TP) QR code

You're not transiting..

Yep, you'll need to apply for a Thai Pass.

I have the same problem. I want to fly from BKK to SIN for a few days then fly back to BKK to catch my flight home to the Uk.

But I will have to do a Thai pass and book a SHA++ hotel. The cheapest package I can find is about £90 for the hotel so not so bad

I got this deal here. This was the lowest I was able to find. It was a flash deal. 75% off.

Wow the price jumped. Keep checking.

it advertises the 795 baht. But as soon as you go to pay it’s over 4k.

I just can’t see how they can do it that cheap. The transfer alone would cost that before a PCR test and the cost of the hotel room

Good luck if you have gotten it at that price and you get you Thaipass with it

Will need Thai pass as not transiting

I would look at getting another flight maybe via Singapore.

Your not the first post about this.

You will have to do Thai pass hotel in Bangkok PCR test etc etc, will need insurance

oh 🤦‍♀️ i have bookwd my flight now which is none-refundable..so i guess my only option is to book a test and go hotel in order to get a thai pass.. Not use it and go straight onto my next flight?

that sounds a bit risky. Exiting to get baggage and skipping the pcr hotel bit.

looks like im going to have to rebook my flight from PP to BKK for a day before and book a test and go hotel only to return to the airport the next day😭 should have done more research 🤦‍♀️

can the airline book you straight through on 2 tickets combined, with baggage checked through?

unfortunately it's two different airlines :( my flight isn't until mid may, so i am going to hold out changing anything just in case Thailand scrap the test and go (very unlikely but i can hope)

often 2 airlines work together. No easy transit in BKK, hasn't been for a long time.

ask them. See if can book your baggage through and you stay airside. . Depends which airline and if they have an arrangement.
