I plan in traveling from Phnom Penh to Cairo with a transit in BKK. I haven’t found any flights that will allow my baggage to be checked through at BKK, so I’ll have to go through immigration to collect my bags and then recheck for the departing flight. This neans, I think, that I’ll have to get a new Thailand Pass, spend the night at a BKK SHA+ hotel and then continue on to Cairo the next day.
I obviously won’t need the second covid test that now is required for people who will stay in Thailand. Does the Thailand Pass system now contemplate this as a possibility? How do you handle the Thailand Pass application if you will leave the country before the second test is due? Will the SHA+ hotels book you for just 1 test rather than 2 if you’re leaving right away?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler from Phnom Penh to Cairo mentions needing to collect their baggage during a transit in Bangkok, which may require going through immigration and staying in a SHA+ hotel overnight. They ask about the requirements for the Thailand Pass in this situation, particularly if they will need a second COVID test, given that they will leave before the due date for the test. Responses indicate that some flights may allow for self-transfer without immigration, and that the Thailand Pass policy states a second test is not needed if leaving before 5 days. It is recommended to verify flight details with the airline directly.
thanks. Is it clear that when Skyscanner says “connect in airport” that means that your luggage is checked through to the final destination so that you don’t have to pass through Immigration to collect your bags? I didn’t see anything on the Skyscannner website confirming that.
if I were you, I'd call the airline for verification. If you can get a straight flight through BKK, it'll undoubtedly save you a lot of money and stress.
I don't know what day you are traveling but I chose Feb 15th and searched on the Sky Scanner app. The first screen shot shows some flights where you must self transfer but there is also a flight where you do not have to self transfer (see the 2nd screen shot for flight details) and the 3rd screen shot shows several flights where you do not have to self transfer.
