TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the necessity of a Thai Pass for transiting through Bangkok with two separate flight tickets from Medan to CDG. Responses indicate that if the flights are on separate tickets and the user has to go through immigration to collect baggage, a Thai Pass is required. However, if the second flight has a check-in counter in the transit area and the user stays in the transit zone without passing through immigration, a Thai Pass may not be needed. It is also advisable to book directly with airlines for smoother connections and to adhere to COVID-19 regulations.
best to book directly with airlines, all the way through to final destination - so they will get you there even if first flight is late etc. Otherwise you might find yourself stranded in Bangkok with your other flight already gone. Add on top the layer of covid regulations, so it's not worth it. You'd need to pay for insurance to get through. Stay in transit area, don't pass the frontier.
Yeah if check your details it'll probably say "baggage not checked through", so by having to leave immigration to collect your baggage, you're technically entering Thailand and so need a Thailand Pass and still travel/medical insurance covering covid for $10,000. You'll need to wait until the restrictions requiring you get tested at a hotel are stopped on the 29th April first.
