TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are flying to Cambodia via Bangkok on a split ticket and need to collect your luggage, you will have to clear immigration, which means you are entering Thailand. In this case, you will require an entry visa. Additionally, the Thai Pass is necessary, and you will need to stay one night in an approved hotel. Simply transiting through Thailand does not apply here since you are collecting your bags.

Thai pass and a night in a hotel if you are doing that.

you will need Thai pass and 1 night in Bangkok. No way round it

Because you need to clear immigration and customs to collect your bags then you are entering Thailand. You would need to do all that’s needed to get a ThailandPass and do a one night stop in Bangkok in an approved hotel. Transit is only allowed if its on one ticket and you don’t need to collect bags for the next flight.

either avoid Bangkok or get a single ticket through where your luggage is checked through to Cambodia and you don’t need to collect it in Bangkok.

If the Booking is ALL ON 1 TICKET, your check-in luggage will follow you to your destination and there should be no need to satisfy any of the Thai Entry Requirements as you are on standby at the airport = Not entering the country. hope this helps ... Safe travels

the OP said he was on a split ticket. That means he has to collect baggage. And therefore enter Thailand.

I got that 100%, but it would save the OP lots of hassle to simply change the booking to all on one ticket, thus the reason I mentioned it as an option . Cheers!
