TLDR : Answer Summary
British passport holders do not need a visa for short visits to Thailand, as they can enter visa-free. They should complete the TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) online within 3 days prior to arrival to receive a 60-day visa exemption. This new requirement started on May 1, 2025, and travelers should print a copy of the TDAC form to present upon arrival. There are discussions about changing the exemption from 60 days to 30 days, so checking for the latest updates is recommended.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be tdac.in.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Doing arrival in advance will save you the hassle of being sent back by immigration to do it manually and getting back in line again.

The online form is the TDAC not a DTV and it is not a Visa and there is no Visa about to change from 60 to 30 days, so many errors
Alan ***********
@Graham *****
ho yes they are thinking of changing from 60 to 30 this government said on tiger news but no confirmation of that as yet
Angelo ***********
@Peter ****
Today is not 14th April, but 13th of May.

Obviously you did not fill in an arrival card in mid April: because it did not exist at that time.
Peter *****
@Angelo **********
sorry 14 may I arrived.
Angelo ***********
@Peter ****
last year? Haha. Anyway, since 1st of May we are supposed to have a digital arrival card.
Peter *****
Not last year last month
Steve *******
@Peter ****
you need to fill out an arrival card before you enter now. It takes 30 seconds and can be done after you land if you missed it.

But a lot of dingdongs in this group are trying to be "funny" instead of helpful and can't answer a question like a normal human being.

it's MUCH easier than that stupid card they used to hand out on the plane and then everyone trying to find a pen. And then you had to hold onto half the card to hand back as you left.

Alan ***********
@Johny *****
just some times it makes you wonder but still best to check any way they are thinking about changing from 60 back to 30 on arrival but if you booked your flight assuming it’s 60 day you can always extend it by 30 days more

You get 60 days visa exempt.

All you need to do is the TDAC online within 3 days prior to arrival.

NOT before 3 days, within 3 days.

Complete the new online TDAC, 3 days before arrival, then you can fly.

You will only receive 30 days electronic tourist visa this way (in the government system).

Take a print out of the completed TDAC form with you, to show the immigration officer.

I did it last week.

Read all about travelling and requirements, things change regularly.
Dave *******
@Ashley *********
wrongs it’s still 60 days

Ashley **********
@Gra***
, yes, read my reply to Mikkel.
Steve *******
@Ashley *********
the TDAC is not a visa. It's an arrival card.
Ashley **********
@St***
, yes, a new one and I was asked for it, by the airline before taking off, just like a visa is asked for.
Steve *******
@Ashley *********
a visa requires an online application at an embassy and gas requirement.

The TDAC can be done on your phone in 30 seconds and the only requirement is that you need a brain.
Ashley **********
@St***
, learn how to comprehend an answer, then read my answer to you.

Some airlines are treating it more seriously than a paper form, and more like a visa; if you have lived in many countries, you would understand different countries and airlines interpret things differently than the host country of a new procedure.

Later it will all calm down, but for now, it is complicating things in some countries and with some airlines.
Mikkel *******
@Ashley *********
a 30 day electronic tourist visa for Thailand does not exist. A tourist visa applied through the e-visa website before traveling will get you a 60 day stamp when entering. Not buying a visa beforehand is still, as of now, and since way back in 2024, also 60 days visa exempt entry (meaning you haven't got a visa at all).

There has been talks of reversing the 60 day visa exempt entry back to 30 days as it was before. Not happened yet though.

Finally the TDAC is not a visa and have absolutely nothing to do with how long you are allowed to stay. It is only for your entry. Just as they used to use paper slips (TM6) that you would get handed in the airplane before landing.
Ashley **********
@Mik***
, for the visa, I stand corrected.

For TDAC, it has more powers than the paper forms, even if unintentional.

If you have not completed it, some airlines, from some countries will not check you in (or at east make it a big hassle); I flew from Bahrain and the staff at check-in wanted to see the printed copy of my TDAC before checking me in.
Dave *******
@Ashley *********
there’s absolutely nothing to say you have to print a copy
Greg ***********
@Dave ******
you don't need a printout. The QR Code on your phone is enough
Dave *******
@Greg **********
that’s what I thought 👍
Greg ***********
@Ashley *********
the airlines have absolutely no right to refuse boarding if you haven't filled out the TDAC yet. The TDAC is NOT a visa! Because you can still do it after arrival at the BKK airport on terminals in front of the Immigration
Brandon ************
@Greg **********
many, many reports on ASN of airlines requiring TDAC at check-in
Greg ***********
@Brandon ***********
I am aware of the airlines asking - yet it doesn't make any sense. One can still fill out the TDAC after arrival at the Thai airport. There are electronic terminals for people who have forgotten the TDAC, or for those without technical knowledge, and there are bunches of Thai helpers to guide you through the process
Joe *******
@Ashley *********
Are you saying you need to download and print a copy of the form?
Ashley **********
@J**
, I did and was asked for it in Bahrain and Thailand.
Mikkel *******
@Ashley *********
I don't know what powers you mean. Thailand lets you do the TDAC from 72 hours before arrival and up until the last minute. They even installed terminals airside in the airport, so that you can fill it out even after landing, and if you don't have a phone/wifi/whatever to do it by your own device.

On the other hand airlines are surely just making sure to cover their own behinds. If you were for some reason denied entry to Thailand after they flew you there, it's on them to fly you out again many times. They just want to be sure everything is in order before letting you board.

Personally I just entered Thailand again last week. And the airline (Thai Airways) at my check-in from Denmark only asked if I had done it. Didn't need to see it. Up to them, and nothing about the form itself. The form is just general information on who is arriving when.
Wayne *********
@Ashley *********
you received 30 days anything you got scammed

Complete online or at the enterance to immigration. You will then get a 60 day visa waiver stamp.
