I am a non-O visa (retirement) holder with a multiple re-entry permit. When I return home from outside Thailand do I need to do a TDAC?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, holders of a non-O visa (retirement) must complete a TDAC when returning to Thailand, even with a multiple re-entry permit. It can be filed up to three days before arrival. Though it's mandatory, immigration officials typically do not check the generated confirmation during entry, so printing it may not be necessary. Ensure your reason for entry is noted correctly if asked.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be tdac.in.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Yes, but you add your visa number into the information, and they don’t require you to specify your departure date, and flight mumber out of Thailand.

I just did it yesterday. They never asked to see the confirmation of having done it, so don’t print it out. I assume it’s registered in immigration system and it all comes up on their screen as soon as they scan your passport in.

also ONLY fill out the fields that have the red asterisks <- those are the only mandatory ones

you do NOT need to put visa number, etc

Yes but there is a section asking reason for entry, can click ‘other’ and put in retirement. For the exit dates and travel, just leave blank as not mandatory and the DTAC will still pull through .

Yes, you have to fiile a TDAC

You can do it from 3 days before you arrival date right down until the date you arrive

BUT

You won't get stamped IN to thailand without having done it (they have kiosks at the airports for people who didn't do it in advance 🙂 )

Here's the official website

I didn’t do it as when I tried it wouldn’t let me complete the tdac as I didn’t have a return flight on retirement extension, immigration said nothing, straight through

and you can select your reason for staying as OTHER and write Retirement in the box 🙂
