Hi all. My friend are going to Thailand the 15 of october and with return back to Norwy 10 of december. He is struggeling to get the tourist visa
for the second month from the Thai embassy in Norway. Is it possible to get it in the immigration at Suvarnabumi?
If not,other advices?
Answer summary
A user inquired about a friend's difficulty in obtaining a tourist visa for an extended stay in Thailand. The responses suggested using the 30-day visa exemption upon arrival, which can then be extended for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office for a fee of approximately 1,900 baht. Additionally, it was noted that airlines may require proof of an outbound ticket within the initial 30 days. If issues persist with obtaining a visa from the Thai embassy in Norway, it may be due to documentation problems or the airline's ticketing policies. Other options mentioned include leaving Thailand briefly to reset the visa count.

Go on a 30 day exemption and extend for 1900 baht at local immigration. Youll get extra 30 days
Du får ikke visa i Thailand, når du søker om å få være i Thailand.. Og pass på når du evt drar ditt på 30 dager fritak, da må du ha en utreisebillett innenfor 30 dager, ellers kommer du ikke ombord i flyet ..
If he is struggling, the question is why - if they won't approve, they may not let him in under 30 day Exemption. Plus there is the airline problem that they may not be OK without a flight after 30 days out of Thailand.
If information problems, best to resolve that and get the Visa.
30 days visa exempt entry then 30 days extension at the immigration office that serves the location he's staying in. He'll need to ensure wherever he stays files a TM30 stating he's resident there and he should ask for a copy to take to immigration
He can enter on the"usual" 30 days visa exempt.Than apply for a 30 day prolongation at a local immigration office in Thailand. There are plenty of them in tourist areas. Will cost him 1 900 baht, if I remember correctly.
Something to consider - the airline taking him there, might request a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days. Google different solutions to that.
Or he can just leave Thailand for, say Kuala Lumpur, for a few days and get another 30 days when returning.
